Miriam has been a Shooting Roots tutor for 9 years, starting out on the music series at Sidmouth Festival and going on to lead tutor teams in song and theatre at this and other festivals. Miriam trained as an actor at Bretton Hall College - now part of Leeds University - and worked as an actor/singer and peripatetic cello teacher for a number of years before training as a secondary drama teacher. Miriam sings and sometimes conducts for various community choirs and is a vocal tutor for the Ex Cathedra Education programme. She has also spent time developing folk style theatre company Moonthief Productions and performed as Gretel in their performance of The Story teller’s Compass.
