Shooting Roots will return

With the 2009 festival season over, the Shooting Roots website has gone into hibernation for the winter. But watch this space: when we come back, we're going to be bigger and better than ever!

Who are we?

We're a traditional folk arts organisation for young people, based in the UK. Shooting Roots does exactly what is says - it takes a shooting root and nurtures it. It gives an opportunity for those with amazing ambition, artistic ideas and energy to develop their own skills, work with others, share opportunities and the excitement of being involved at the grass roots of a folk festival. Led by Director Laurel Swift, Shooting Roots first developed in Sidmouth Festival nearly 15 years ago, and now works with folk festivals all over the county.

What's going on?

We've got some exciting plans here at Shooting Roots. As well as preparing for another awesome summer of workshops in 2010, we're working to expand our website into a great new community and resource for young people interested in the folk arts. It's going to be a lot of fun, and we can't wait to share it with you.
